Promotion of community-based financial services

We promote community-based financial services through the following activities based on the basic policy of “contributing to revitalization of local economies by strengthening the financial intermediary function.” In addition, we distribute information on the details and achievements of these efforts through news releases and our website.

Exert consulting functions in accordance with the life stage of local businesses

We conduct various support activities in accordance with the life stage of clients including commercialization support, financing based on business assessments, overseas business expansion support, business succession and M&A support, as well as management improvement and business revitalization support.

Active participation in local wide-region revitalization

We work to contribute to the region through means such as grass-rooted industry support and PFI promotion.

The entire Bank has strengthened ties with local public organizations and is actively involved in projects on revitalization of local economies in order to resolve issues related to revitalization of local economies.

SDGs Implementation Seminar

In February 2019, we held an SDGs Implementation Seminar in collaboration with Mie University, Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance, Inc., and Sompo Risk Management Inc.
The goal of this seminar was to present information on the system of SDGs, future trends, and the methods being used by companies. The seminar was attended by 26 people, primarily from companies with an interest in SDGs.

The Second NEXCO Central Nippon “SA/PA” Large Business Fair

In order to support the growth of sales network for local enterprises and revitalization of local economies, we held a business fair aimed at selling highly distinctive products and products with close ties to the community to service areas (SAs) and parking areas (PAs) in three prefectures in Tokai region. The fair was attended by 45 enterprises, and 132 business discussions were conducted.

Initiatives to support management improvement and business revitalization

Every six months, we select businesses requiring management improvement and provide them with individually tailored support. In the fiscal year ended March 31, 2019, we provided various support focusing on management improvement to over 300 business partners. For businesses requiring drastic support for business revitalization, Hyakugo Bank representatives had directly handled and collaborated with external specialist institutions such as the Small and Medium Enterprise Revitalization Support Council to support business revitalization. In the fiscal year ended March 31, 2019, we provided drastic revitalization support to 3 companies, and have completed support for a cumulative total of 65 companies.

Support for customers with business succession needs

M&A Seminar

The average age of business owners increases every year, and more and more businesses are closing down because they cannot find a successor. In November 2018, we held our 17th M&A Seminar with the goal of meeting business succession needs through M&As which are increasingly being used. About 80 people, primarily business owners, attended the seminar.
At the seminar, we explained business succession through M&A, with a focus on first-hand accounts of company representatives who have actually acquired companies lacking successors.

“Mie Marche” exhibition of products from Mie Prefecture

In May 2018, as one of the Bank’s regional revitalization efforts, we held the “Mie Marche” exhibition of products from Mie Prefecture in Marunouchi, Tokyo in collaboration with Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company with the aim of supporting the expansion of sales network.
13 of the Bank’s business partners and organizations put up booths, promoting distinctive Mie Prefecture products and tourism to the exhibition’s numerous visitors.
