Corporate Business Strategy

Loan Products for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses
Hyakugo Bank is aggressively supporting the funding requirements of companies in the region it serves. We offer several products that meet the diverse funding needs of small and medium-sized companies and individual business owners. These products include Hyakugo Business Loan Manekineko, which requires no collateral or third-party guarantor and allows speedy approval; fixed-interest products; and products for purchasing capital equipment and vehicles.

International Business Support
Hyakugo Bank is responding to the needs of its customers by strengthening its support system for trade and market entry focused on China and Southeast Asia. This effort is supported by cooperation with the Shanghai Representative Office and Singapore Representative Office. Hyakugo Bank also provides support for customers operating in China through consulting in the areas of establishing and managing a corporation in China.

Six Chubu and Kinki Banks Providing Business Seminars in Shanghai
Three Chubu regional banks began cooperating in 2005 to become Japan’s first regional banks to offer business seminars in Shanghai. This group expanded the scale and content of the seminars in September 2006, as six regional banks from the Chubu and Kinki regions began cooperating to offer seminars and match customers with local Chinese suppliers. Hyakugo Bank is thus working with customers to solve their problems and meet their needs in China.

Guarantee of Loans Denominated in Local Currencies in China and Thailand
Hyakugo Bank has concluded alliances with the Bank of China, headquartered in Beijing, and Kasikorn Bank, headquartered in Thailand, to help its customers’ local subsidiaries in conducting transactions with local banks. Moreover, Hyakugo Bank provides assistance for customers’ local business activities by maintaining cooperative relationships with local banks and foreign capital-affiliated banks.

Business Agreement with the Government of Vietnam to Support Customers’ Entry into Vietnam
Interest in Vietnam has grown as the number of customers entering the country has increased. With the objective of providing information and supporting entry into Vietnam, in November 2006 Hyakugo Bank concluded a cooperative business agreement with the Foreign Investment Agency of the Ministry of Planning and Investment of the Government of Vietnam. In cooperation with the Foreign Investment Agency, Hyakugo Bank is providing information such as seminars and consulting in connection with the entry of customers into Vietnam.

Seminar on India for Small and Medium-Sized Companies
In March 2007, Hyakugo Bank held an India Seminar that featured a Japanese certified accountant living in India as a lecturer. We are providing a variety of information that assists customers in developing business overseas.

Mergers and Acquisitions
Hyakugo Bank provides active support for mergers and acquisitions, with the aim of contributing to communities by helping local companies grow further, solve inheritance problems and revitalize their business. Moreover, we are cooperating with Juroku Bank and Nagoya Bank within the Chubu Finance M&A Network, a regional economic revitalization project that uses the internal and external networks of these three banks in Mie Prefecture and the Tokai region to support corporate merger and acquisition needs.

Syndicated Loans
In a syndicated loan, the lead bank moves to meet customer financing requirements by arranging multiple financial institutions into a group of lenders that provides a single loan under a single contract. This method of providing capital responds to diversifying customer financing needs.

PFI Business
The Private Finance Initiative (PFI) is a new approach to business that uses private-sector capital and know-how to provide design, construction, maintenance and management of public facilities and other infrastructure under a single purchase order. Since the PFI Law was enacted in Japan, national and local government bodies have studied numerous PFIs. Hyakugo Bank is participating in numerous projects, including a PFI covering libraries and other public facilities in Kuwana City and a PFI covering public elementary and middle school facilities in Yokkaichi City. Hyakugo Bank is responding to new customer needs in the PFI business in ways such as conducting study and research sessions, providing financial advice, and arranging financing contracts.

Business Strategies for Individual Customers

Loan Products for Individuals
Hyakugo Bank launched the Three Major Illnesses Insurance Plan as part of the Hyakugo Home Loan Platinum Plan, which is available to customers who have their salaries directly deposited at Hyakugo Bank. This insurance plan pays the full balance of the mortgage under specified conditions if the borrower is afflicted by one of the three major illnesses of cancer, heart attack or stroke.

In addition, Hyakugo Bank handles a variety of other loan products tailored to the diverse needs of individual customers. These include the Hyakugo Car Loan kurumade Go!, which can be applied for by phone, fax or the Internet, and the Hyakugo Reform Plan Smile Up Loan, which borrowers can use for a wide range of applications such as home additions or renovations, or construction to make a home barrier free or more earthquake resistant.

Meeting Asset Management Needs
Hyakugo Bank handles an array of asset management products, such as investment trusts and Japanese government bonds. Individual pension insurance is one of these products, and it enables customers to prepare for their financial needs later in life. As of the end of March 2007, we had concluded 29,198 of these contracts with a total value of ¥75.9 billion.

Hyakugo Bank will continue working to expand the products it handles to offer its customers comprehensive financial services.
