Corporate Business Strategy

Loan Products for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses
To meet the diverse funding needs of small and medium-sized companies and individual business owners, Hyakugo Bank offers the Hyakugo Business Loan Quick 105, an unsecured loan that enables applicants to receive a response on the same day or soon thereafter, without the need for a third-party guarantor. We also actively support funding needs of customers in the region by offering fixed-interest loans and loans backed by a credit guarantee corporation. In addition, we are also active in prefectural and city government financing schemes.

Mergers and Acquisitions
Hyakugo Bank aims for its active support of mergers and acquisitions to contribute to local communities by helping companies grow further, solving local companies’ inheritance problems and revitalizing business. We are implementing the Chubu Finance M&A Network, a regional economic revitalization project, jointly with two other regional banks. Through this network, we use the internal and external networks of regional banks in the three prefectures of the Tokai region to support the M&A needs of companies.

PFI Business
The Private Finance Initiative (PFI) represents a novel business approach that uses private sector financing and expertise in the design, construction, maintenance and operation of public facilities. Since enactment of the PFI law in September 1999, national and local government entities have launched many specific PFI business studies, with hundreds of PFI projects now under consideration nationwide, including projects in the initial stages. Hyakugo Bank meets new customer needs by holding study and research meetings as well as providing financial advice and capital for PFI projects.

International Business Support
Local companies are rapidly establishing or expanding operations in China. In order to bolster its support in this area, Hyakugo Bank established a Shanghai Representative Office on November 19, 2003, our 125th anniversary.

Working in cooperation with the previously established Singapore Representative Office, Hyakugo Bank aims to serve business partners by strengthening its support system for trade and market entry focused on China and the ASEAN region.

Business Strategies for Individual Customers

Loan Products for Individuals
Hyakugo Bank handles a wide range of loan products tailored to the diverse needs of individual customers. For customers who designate Hyakugo Bank for their salary transfers, we offer the Gold Plan, a housing loan with a special interest rate that requires no guaranteed commission at the time of funding. We also offer Gamaguchi kun, a card loan (application free, but not for business use) that customers can easily apply for by phone, fax or mail, and obtain without visiting a branch.

Meeting Asset Management Needs
Hyakugo Bank has been making over-the-counter sales of individual pension insurance since October 2002. Combined with defined contribution pensions, this enables us to help customers prepare financially for later life. In addition, we are actively responding to customers’ wide-ranging asset-management needs. For example, we offer a new foreign-currency time deposit with a foreign exchange contract, and to mark the establishment of the Shanghai Representative Office, we began handling the Tokio Marine Best China Open investment trust, in response to customer desires to invest in the fast-growing Chinese economy. As deregulation moves forward, Hyakugo Bank will continue working to offer its customers comprehensive financial services.
